The SCM SCR201 smart card reader is a universal module that provides access to a smart card through the PC Card (PCMCIA) interface. The PSR2 is a PC Card device that provides a portable, universal, secure and cost-effective bridge between smart cards and PCs. The card reader enable easy access to the growing number of smart card applications such as:

• Secure access to a variety of informational services
• Electronic commerce transactions
• Database smart card access

The SCR201 uses the SCM Microsystems Smart OS. This extensible smart card interface architecture provides interpretability between the widest range of smart cards, operating systems and industry standards. By allowing hardware updates, Swapsmart prevents obsolescence and keeps pace with changing standards and new smart cards.
